it isn't allways the same as skating.I surf goofy, but skate regular on a skateboard i suck at goofy and i rip at regular on a surfboard its the oposite. Im more loose surfing goofey.A friend is the same as me but hes a regular surfer goofey skater.

Most waves back in the day broke a certain way? Yes, the global warming has caused many breaks to change directions. Raglan used to be a right beach break. Malibu used to be a left. Douchebag.

goofy is called that because most waves back in the day broke to the surfers right. this made most people want to face the wave, left foot in front. right foot in front was just different. and it carried over to skateboarding and snowboarding because of that.

How tall? 6' or 7'? A 9' is the standard beginning size, but you will have more fun on a 10' or 11'.Just be sure to always be aware of your surroundings and keep control of your board.Always watch the horizon for waves coming too.I have worked in a surf shop for the past 8 years and have grown up with surfing in a surf town.So you can trust me.
