I'm 'Asperger's' and hoping to become a scientist. I plan to write research proving that there is no difference between Kanner's and Asperger's.

hi, thanks :) seems there is still controversy within professional research as to whether AS should be seen as a distinct condition from HFA... i think there shouldn't be a distinction because, when it comes to getting help and understanding, autism means a lot more to the general population than AS... but then, of course, HFA/AS are then going to always get told "well you don't seem autistic to me"... finger lickin nausea :(

There is no definite standard about the difference between asperger autism and kanner autism and it's pretty pointless to try and make one, the autism spectrum is an extreme variant in human diversity and so it is impossible to generalise any trait. With most autistic adults you can't distinguish them as asperger/kanner unless you knew them as young children, not even if you're a psychologist.
