If I remember it right, it wasn't Pete Seeger who gave tens of millions of dolars to the Talibans, the ones who according to the US government were responsible for starting the terrorism actions in US soil. If you want to find terrorists start looking in the congress, pentagon, white house and wall street.

Seeger never supported Stalinism and it's blatant fascism. There's a difference between Marxism and Stalinism. A HUGE difference. Namely one actually calls for social and political unity and preaches pure equality and detication to the state. The other uses it as a method to overpower and control the state into feeding their own fascist desires.

Jose Marti was a wonderful poet. The imagery is gorgeous and I have loved this song for nearly half a century now! But my dears, Pete Seeger is not now and never was a Communist, even though he was black-listed during the witch hunts of Joe McCarthy during the 1950s. I don't know Marti's politics, but his poetry is lovely, regardless!
