This is the first time I ever heard this version.I'm not sure Joan Jett and the Blackhawks changed much; they might have made it a bit more raw, I guess.I've never heard any other version. This is the original version, and it's great, but if it wasn't for Joan Jett I would probably never have heard this song.So more power to the Arrows for creating this song and to Joan Jett for making me aware of it.

Everyone has their own taste. Some will like Arrows original, some Joan Jett's cover, some Britney's cover, some Lee Da Hae's cover and so on. Variety makes the world interesting. Different tastes keep the world from being boring. Tolerating the tastes of others is an important part of being a rational and logical human being.

This was released 7 years before Joan Jett's version. A different time in England, before the punk rock era started.

This rendition by Alan is FANTASTIC! I've always held as a favorite the version by Joanne Jett and the Blackhearts.I like how Alan has toned it down and makes for more pleasant listening.EXCELLENT job!!! Alan Merrill and the Arrows!

Happy new year rock and rollers!

Yes, The Arrows singer Alan Merrill performed from midnight until after 3AM in New York City with hardly a break, but he did have a drink or two from my observation:)- Of course he did "I love rock 'n' roll" and dozens of other songs, including "Slow Down" a song which he sang lead vocals on the "Meat Loaf live at Wembley 87" Arista records CD.
