As long as propaganda is so important for warmongers journalists are important, even crucial, for manipulating the populations to support or at least accepting the mass murders.This logically enough makes journalists into targets one way or the other.If ajournalist takes the side of the people that pays for the wars, said journalist becomes an "unwanted element" and there will arise a desire to eliminate said "unwanted element" one way or the other.It is the ultimate cowardness.

Does shooting the messenger constitute a new phenomena or has the more frequent occurrence changed perception of dangers media encounter. The phenomena predates Bosnia: the March 1977 murder in Cairo of a Sunday Times reporter, the 1980s killing of journalists in Lebanon such as Al Hawadeth editor whose body was found with its right hand dipped in acid, the shooting of Reuters correspondent Debusman, the kidnapping of Anderson and others,the Nicaraguan execution of a US television reporter.

This thread is a good example why the Isreal /Arab conflict has very little chance of being resolved. I always asked myself why dont other Arab nations petition the UN to recognize a Palestinian state? I thought damn I already know the answer. The whole idea of the Balfour declaration was to take away the Palestine state and to replace it with a British controlled Isreal. All the other Arab nations are too greedy to help Palestine because they make money with the West. Its all politics not God.

Pretty sure the state of israel has been responsible for the deaths of many journalists. As well as numerous journalists killed or held in g-bay by America. The recently released Al Jazeera camera man who suffered terrible torture at the hands of America for example.
